Ghana Records Its First Suspected Coronavirus Outbreak

Two foreign nationals are said to have shown symptoms of the dreadful virus which has claimed close to 600 lives in Hubei and Wuhan, China. The two suspected carriers of the virus are currently going through series of medical test at the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR).
Dr William Baah, Greater Accra Divisional Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association, disclosed that the two patients moved to Ghana on different dates. The Chinese has been been in the country since 2019 whilst the Argentine travelled to Ghana in January 2020.
He added that:
“They’ve all developed some symptoms that fit the case definition [but] it doesn’t mean they have the disease,”However, more test will be run on them to be certain that the two do not have the virus.
