16-Year-Old Boy Steals N340,000 After Hiding In The Bank Toilet Overnight


A 16-year-old boy, Adekunle Ayomikun, who purportedly covered up in the toilet of a bank overnight and took N340,000 was yesterday, remanded at Special Correctional Center for boys in Oregun, by a Lagos officer's court sitting in Igbosere.

The litigant, who is confronting a tally charge of taking favored against him by the Police, was docked before Magistrate K. O. Doja-Ojo.

At the point when Magistrate Doja-Ojo asked him, how he got into the bank, Ayomikun disclosed to her that he entered the bank around 4 pm during banking hours and secured himself in the toilet.

He stated: "In the wake of shutting hours around evening time I went to the mass room of the bank where I saw cash, and I took N340,000 and kept it in my pocket.

"I had a lighter with me, so when I was attempting to leave the bank, the lighter pulled in the security watches at the bank who saw me, at that point I ran once more into the toilet and bolted myself up, once more."

Ayomikun likewise included that when he inevitably left the toilet, the security monitors looked through him and they recovered N340,000, from him.

Prior, the prosecutor, Inspector Peace Chukwudi, had told the court that the adolescent submitted the offense on February 19, 2020.

She said the episode happened at about 8:30 pm, at FCMB branch, Ajah.

Chukwudi said the respondent who took N340,000, property of FCMB, was spoken to by one Mary Ikwuako.

As indicated by her, the offense is culpable under Section 28 of the criminal law of Lagos State 2015.

Thusly, Magistrate Doja-Ojo remanded him at the Special Correctional Center for young men in Oregun. The case was deferred till April 15
